The 10 in '10 Teen Chick Lit Challenge!
Have you heard about this exhilarating new challenge coming at you from awesome author Kay Cassidy (kaycassidy.com) and teen chick lit blogger Jessica (chicklitteens.com)?
Well, if you haven't, you should totally find out about it. Oh, wait. That's why I'm here. To TELL you about it!
Basically, the challenge is to read ten teen chicklit books within the year of 2010. (Like that's even a challenge for most of you. I bet some of you guys have already READ a couple and we're only seven days in.) You can go to Kay's blog on her website to link your list of ten books you intend to read this year and then check them off as you go. (You can also just put in a couple and add more as new stuff you like or hadn't heard about in advance comes out.) There will be opportunities to chat about the books you read, participate in live chats with supercool authors (like moi!) and, of course, win prizes. (Not that I think I'm supercool. Just, I'm sure there will be OTHER authors involved who are, in fact, supercool.)
Click this link to go directly to Kay's 10 in '10 blog page: KAY'S BLOG!
And might I suggest placing SHE'S SO DEAD TO US at the top of your list? :P
Here's my very own list, crafted with the help of YOUR suggestions (which some of you made way back during TEEN READ WEEK).
1. The Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins
2. Sea Change - Aimee Friedman
3. The Demon's Lexicon - Sarah Rees Brennan
4. Dream Factory - Brad Barkley & Heather Hepler
5. Waiting For You - Susanne Colasanti
6. The Summer I Turned Pretty - Jenny Han
7. Something, Maybe - Elizabeth Scott
8. Hatie Big Sky - Kirby Lawson
9. An Abundance of Katherines - John Green
10. Looks - Madeline George
Now I can't wait to get started! And I can't wait to see what you're reading . . . and to chat with you soon!
6 Comments:
LOVE 'Something, Maybe', 'The Hunger Games', and 'The Summer I Turned Pretty'.
My library didn't have 'Sea Change' for the longest time, but now I finally have it on hold.
I have to say I think I've read about 5 books already this year, which is insane... that number will drop down once my classes start again next week, but I'm still excited to continue going through my 'to read' list. 'She's So Dead To Us' will definitely be on it! =)
So fun to have you aboard, Kieran! AWESOME list. Hunger Games is up for me this month though I didn't think about including it in the challenge. (And, of course, I already bought Catching Fire too assuming I will love HG as much as my agent and editor do.) :-)
THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY is SO good!I keep making all my friends read it and they laugh and cry at all the same parts i do. Since I've had it since May of '09 I try to read it every month. And Shug. Another novel of Jenny Han's.
I'm so excited to have you on board, Kieran! I've read a few of those titles, but a few are also on my own list. It looks like you'll have a lot of great books to read.
Happy reading!
An Abundance of Katherines was a really good book. And Hunger Games kept me up in the night, desperately trying to finish.
Though, i think that so far (I haven't read Looking for Alaska yet) Paper Towns have been my favorite John Green book
